Ins and Outs of NOS ??

ok well first off i know its illegal to have a setup run on the street so this would be for track use. i only know the difference between dry (on jet in intake tube) and wet (direct port run into fuel system) but everything else about nitrous im pretty clueless on. first off who here is running it on there cars? happy with the cost VS result? id like to know everything and anything on a properly installed nitrous system. thanks.

its actuallyl legal to have nos on the street. you just have to have the bottle mounted properly. but, what the cops do is call your insurance company and tell them you're running NOS. from there, i hope your gay or you wont like the result much.
as for using nos on your car, its okay, but turning up the amount on stock interals etc. can result in a blown motor/blown parts. whatever you do, talk to a pro about what your currently running and how much nos you should be using etc.
heres an quote thats been around for awhile
"nitrous is like a hot chick with std's; you know you want to hit it, but are afraid of the consequences"

yea i know about the internal part, just like throwing boost at a stock engine not built for those applications (proper fueling,air/fuel mix etc.) id personally like to learn about what a nitrous system consits of (solenoids and all that) and see how it works and where improvements can be made. id like to see some engine pics of guys who are currently running setups in their cars.

look into a nitrous kit, comes with everything you need. depending on your engine you may be able to handle a 50-100 wet shot on a stock motor.

is it really legal to use nitrous on the streets? From what I read on laws, you cant even have the nitrous connected. i hope im wrong :p

BrowNKiD 10-16-2006 11:35 AM

ok heres the law... it is not illegal to carry a nitrous tank in our car... BUT you need a license to carry compressed gas... if nitrous bottle is hooked up THAT is illegal... ur car will get impounded for that... nitrous is good if used correctly...

if your smart about it by tuning your motor and making some internals stronger then you have no worrys.....
i no ppl who just tuned with 70 shot with no internals and are ok..

No tune running a 75 shot dry on stock motor, and no problems at all. By far the best bang for your buck, I'm very happy with it. BTW I'm running a zex universal efi kit on a 92 topaz lol:dunno:
