ls1 swap into my car
ok, so iv been looking into doing this for a while now.. posted around a bit on ls1tech. couple days ago i contacted hawks third gen, asked them how much it would cost to do the 2.8 auto to a ls1/ t-56 swap, complete to the turn of a key, upgrading the driveshaft, and rear end at the same time. He replied back saying anywhere from 8-12grand depending on what options i choose. any idea what he means by options?
and one last thing, you think this is a resonable price? or could i get it done cheaper somewhere else? i know hawks is kinda expensive, iv priced out other things before and noticed them to be kinda expensive. over all it seems like an awesome place with a ton of experience in this area tho. I was reading on ls1tech that they're working on an ls1 swap into a late 80's stang which looks pretty **** good. so, opinions? thoughts?

it's been done, and requires fabrication it's not easy.I woinder if their prce included the engine and trans, if so that's not that bad.Options would be performance upgrades and what not.The 2.8 cooling system won't work, if you have a/c the frame has to be modified (one of the chassis companies makes a bolt on front frame for teh conversion runs around $5000)

that price is including everything, engine, tranny, driveshaft, rear end. im assuming they take them off wrecked 4th gen's they get. it seems like not a bad deal if everything is included in this price... hmm.. still more thinking/research to do
