part it out?

k well i really dont need my Z anymore, and with 140,000 miles it might be hard to get the 6500 i want from it. so i could always part it...

but at the same time that would be even harder to get 6500 from it...what do you guys think? the LT1/t56 combo could fetch a pretty penny on ebay :)

RFF 12-19-2005 10:11 PM

First see if you can get $6500 for it as a whole, if not then part it out,

69z-28 12-19-2005 10:11 PM

would be worth a decent amount but have fun pulling it out and waiting for someone to buy it and deal with the shipping/pick up and all that. i have a feeling it would really be a pain in the butt. why dont you ask like 5,000 for it?

Mikerock 12-19-2005 10:27 PM

from my experience parting it out is always a pain in the ***. you could either sell the entire thing and be done with it or have it sit around for months with things missing from it. you deffinatly wouldn't come near 6500 parting it out.

Mike Jones 12-19-2005 10:32 PM

Sell it whole.

NoRiceInside 12-19-2005 10:45 PM

k

archemedes 12-19-2005 11:32 PM

I'm with them whole is better, unless you like having parts forever

paarman97maro 12-19-2005 11:53 PM

yeah as a whole. I dont think youll get 6,500 for it though imo.

NoRiceInside 12-20-2005 01:10 AM

how? i payed 6200 for it and since then its had a new fuel pump, clutch, water pump, fuel pump, tire, etc, etc. i know that stuff doesnt add to the value, but besides the current problem of bad knock sensor its running perfect. i actually really shouldnt sell it. but i dont need two cars...

meissen 12-20-2005 02:25 AM

sell the engine to me for $1.
:)

NoRiceInside 12-20-2005 02:58 AM

blow me for $2.

cause you said it has 140,000 miles on it. And you said youve had nothing but problems with it, which is why you got the firebird. From what I see, you wouldnt get over 5,000 on a blue book value.

camaro_chic17 12-20-2005 04:20 AM

I would say sell it whole but u might have trouble getting $6,500 for it..

97z2801ss 12-20-2005 08:43 AM

yea high milage lt1s are pretty cheep... now I bet you wont get 5 for it... and to part it out youll have parts for ever but.....then again maybe you can find some dumb kid to buy it...

so you put two fuel pumps in it? lol j/k

i think you should try to sell it whole but i dont think you will get over 5k for it. my Z had 120k i had it for about 6 months and didnt have to put a single thing in it. i payed 5k and feel it was a good deal but i coulda gotten something equally as good for a little less. good luck tho with whatever you choose to do.
