State Farm

If it were just the body panels I could buy them all off of eBay for about $1000.00 including shipping (at an extreme high)

:( The frame really doesn't look too out of shape.. I'm thinking it won't be totalled

McGruff 09-01-2005 09:05 PM

Obviously you have never used Zaino wax. Although this may require the use of a polishing compound too.

im sorry josh! what you gunna do now? :(

archemedes 09-02-2005 11:20 PM

I actually think your better off with it totaled, you would never be happy with the car again (you would find something that didn't fit right or feel right I know)

Thats the word on the street...

I'm looking to get out of the sports car arena for a while now... I'm going to take the equity I had in the Vette and my Silverado and probably get a Grand Cherokee or a brand new pickup...

97z2801ss 09-06-2005 10:45 AM

what you gunna do with that motor?

paarman97maro 09-06-2005 12:20 PM

He can't keep it, or else it will be insurance fraud or whatever else they could get you for. It has to go with the totalled car...if i'm not mistaken.

archemedes 09-06-2005 06:52 PM

unless he buys the whole car

FORCE_FED_Z 09-06-2005 07:19 PM

When a vehicle is totaled you can buy it back from the insurance company for what a junkyard will pay for it. They don't typically look at the mods done to the car, just the year, make, model.

I know because I just went thru this last summer...

I was only gonig to have to pay $500 for my car, but I pissed an moaned enough from them not payin me as much as they should they waived the retention fee and let me keep it out right. And in Josh's case, I doubt he would pay much more than $1000 to keep the car. The motor/tran can be sold for around 15-1800, but a junkyard has to pay to pull it and store it until someone wants it. The rest of it is just mis. interior stuff since the body panels are pretty much toast.

**Yes I know there are a ton of parts on there that also could be sold, I am just talkin about what an insurance company is going to look at**

McGruff 09-10-2005 09:26 PM

I still havent gotten word from the insurance company, but according to kbb, book value is $23,000... the Chevy dealership seems to think I'll get 23,000 - 27,000 for it, and the Ford dealership thinks I'll probably get more. This is not including all upgrades (which I still have receipts for)... just thought I would say goodbye to the sports car arena, probably for a while... Word on the street is that I'm going to the dark side too... Hopefully next week I'll have pics...
