Is is possible??

does anyone know if it's possible to make heat in the car actually hotter? my heat is more warm than hot. my temp. gauge seems to stay cold, so it could be the thermostat or the ECT sensor right? i'm assuming my heating problem is connected to my second problem.......can anyone help??

technically u want your car to run as cold as possible. heat is not a good thing

your temp gauge could be the problem. what kind of car is this happening on?

Orthow 11-14-2005 03:08 PM

time to get a portable heater that plugs into your cigarette lighter!

monopoly....i have a 94 integra. i doubt it's my gauge because every so often it will move a bit, forgot to mention that, but for the most part it stays at cold. i understand it's better for the engine to run cooler but i've been in many other cars where the heat gets like jamaica. since winter is around the corner now, i was wondering if it was possible to make it hotter. but like i mentioned above, i think my 2 problems are connected resulting in warm heat than actual hot air coming out of my vents

Your thermostat could be stuck open, not letting the engine warm up. But then I dont think you'd have ANY heat.

Also, you could have a reeeeealy low temp thermostat that opens too early, not letting the engine warm up all the way.

what temp. thermostat do you guys recommend? i'm thinking of changing mine

BOOSTED_ITR 11-14-2005 11:06 PM

Wrong!! Very, very wrong... You need proper heat for compleate combustion... when a motor is running too cold, it's outside of it's proper operating range, and doesn't deliever 100% of it's performance.

A few degrees cooler in a thermostat is ok... but running an engine as cold as possible is bad info.

As for the problem, I'd say it's your themostat... and usually not hard to change... and cost around $10-15...
