Power Door Lock Button Not Working

Hey guys, got a question. The power door lock button on both the driver's and the passenger's door aren't working. The buttons on the key fab works though, its just the buttons on the door.
I've spoke to a mechanic and he says its most likely due to a relay problem or a faulty wire. He also asked me to check every fuse using a test light because there could be a possibility its the fuse.
Any other ideas what could cause this and how to fix it? Any suggestions would be great.

thanks

Does anyone know what the voltage should be showing on the voltmeter/multimeter for fuses such as 15A/20A/etc.?
Also, what voltage setting should the voltmeter/multimeter be set to?

you best bet would be to use a testlight, but if this is a fairly good multimeter you should have a condictivty siren, which will beep if a circuit is complete. Touch the two leads to one another to test. Also for a car you should be working with DC voltage and the selections within DC voltage is just the range. You can also select OHMS or Amperage but will have to change the jumper leads at the bottom of the multimeter to A for amps.
