Question about FIPK intake...
I got mine installed just like...3 days ago, and i like it a lot, but i noticed that i can only hear it right when i start up my car after its been parked for a while, like in the mornings. But after i drive it for like...a minute the high pitched sucking sound gos away and i never hear it again. Is this normal? Will it start making the noise all the time if i like break it in or something...thanks to anyone who answers.

no, it will make that noise forever - it's normal, don't worry about it
|
thanks but that wasnt my question. My question was will it eventually start making that noise ALL the time instead of just when i start it up after being parked for multiple hours?
|
no, just when the intake is cold.

really? hm...but its performing all the time right? Is it working like...extra hard when its colder? |
thats just what they do, they make noise. I'm sure theres information out there as to why they make the noise, but think about what you just asked me. What would happen to your car if the intake just stopped working?
It doesn't work "extra hard" because its colder, it just makes that noise because its cold. |
Thank you.

it sucks air doesn't matter if you hear noise or not, it can't not work

When the unit is cold it should be tighter/smaller, as the CAI heats up it should expand.
