you can see my first weld there on the lower left, it was too hiug of a wire speed, i slowed it down a lil and then did the 2 u can see in the middle of the pic
i got the 2 pieces that run down from the main hoop and go to above the gas tank fitted also, you can kinda see them in the pic of the main hoop

all you guys say u wish you could weld, it is so easy, i spend a total of like 15 mins learnign, first weld was ****, then adjusted the wire speed and then just started and the just looked better from there

Yea welding is fairly easy, Its one of those things that you just have to pick up and **** with to get the hang of. The wire is easy as hell to get used to it only took me a few minutes to get used to it. Stick welding on the other hand is a lil harder it took me a lot longer to get used to that since it takes a lot more patience that I dont really have.

There is a lot more to welding then a lot of people think-

My advice is make sure you are getting good and not just tacking the parts together. Even though it might look like a good weld, you might not have enough to make it last.

only 1 person said that

I didn't mean it as people on here said it, I meant it more as a general statement as I have friends who think its easy.

I also thought it was easy too and not much to it at one point as well- until I had some welds break- I'm no expert, but I know a lot more than when I started. Even the perfect looking welds aren't worth anything if they don't hold-

niceroc 05-29-2007 08:32 PM

yea, ive been getting good with my welds, i welded in the 2 plates for the main hoop today, could get any clear pics of it but they were deff getting good penetraion, on my prtatice welds you could see the weld easy on the back side of the piece of metal
