So good news and bad news...

Well on a couple of counts. First...

As you might have seen from the pics, Cassi (my son's mother for those who care to know) just got her blue Z vert back from the shop on Friday. Long convoluted story but it's back and finally got her new MB Motoring "Vintage" 17"x8.5" wheels on. Well if yall remeber she was the one that took my old black C5s off my hands back in the day. Well with the new wheels on she has genorously let me have the black C5s back! Thats the good news. The bad... Well the lip has some curb rash and the paint has chipped on all 4 wheels. Moreso the tires, well the one of the fronts has those tumors that Brain's old tires had and one of the rear tires is as blad as ****. So needless to say, i can't bolt these right up. They will need new tires before that will happen. So at least i have them, but you wont see them on Epic anytime soon.

Secondly, i haven't talked about this much but you can probaly imagine, going sidways up a curb is going to hurt a car. Well her alingment has been off for a while becuase of a bent tie-rod on the passneger side. Well Saturday morning i finally got around to replacing the tie rod and tie rod ends for both sides and proceeded to take her over to Midas for an alignment. Thats the good news. The bad... Well Midas alined her as best they could but apearantly it wasn't only the tie rod that was a problem. I dont knwo the technicalites but that wheel's camber is off. Basically the front wheels look like this... // []
Midas doesn't have the tools to fix that. Luckly they didnt charge me for what they did but bottom line is i need a specialist or worse, the dealership to fix this (which means $$$$) otherwise Epic is basically driveing on the sidewall of the passenger side tire which will ware the hell out of it or worse, blow out. So till then - back to the ***-tro Van.

Lots of ups and downs today. I'm tired. Grrrrrr

Never a dull moment huh Grant?

sounds like you need a strut or lower control arm any suspension shop should be able to fix it, unless it's strut tower (the piece under teh hood the strut bolts to) if it's that you need a body shop

Sorry to hear about the problems she's giving you. You'll get through this and by the end of the summer Epic will not be her old self but even better.
It's good to hear she has her hold wheels back!

Yeah pretty much what Chad said. It takes time and money, but in the end Epic will be even better than before. :) Good luck, Grant!

2Poor4Z 05-20-2005 06:55 PM

can you not just order a camber kit>?

MeenZ28 05-21-2005 05:35 AM

At our club meet tonight a new fellow interested in becomeing member actually recomened a place that can do the camber job for about $50. So i'm taking Epic over there next Saturday and then that should be that. Then back to saving money for paint and tires *sighs*
