tire damage

Well I found out last night when I got home that one of my tires is leaking hardcore... Dunno how long it has been, but I just noticed last night... which is gay. Its probably all the damn construction like everywhere around here. ****** gay...

So I was asking on local forums where I can get it fixed for cheap, they said Z rated tires shouldnt be fixed or repaired because of safety issues I guess... So I called up a couple places, which are closing early today... called discount tire direct since I have a free replacement plan and they said if I get it checked out and they cant repair it theyll just send me a new one... which is good, but this car is my dd... I cant not drive while waiting for a tire.

So I called discount tire near here and he said they can patch and fix z rated tires I guess... and he said theyd do it for free since I got my tires for the website I guess... So hopefully I can get over there safely and get it fixed. Blows becuase I was gonna go to a show today, down to porkys tonite and a car club bbq tomorrow. Hopefully they get it fixed and good to go.

But yeah, just an instant downer to my weekend.

ROFLOL, you guys must have a better discount then we do, I waited just under 2 hours last time, they couldnt find where it was leaking even though I pointed it out to him ahead of time. Not bashing them tho, they have been pretty good about stuff, just long wait times.

Discount Tires can be slow, I went once to have a nail removed and it took an hour....depends how busy they are.

who told you z rated tires cant be fixed? the only tire that cant be fixed is a runflat type tire. ive even patched those in the past if the sidewall is undamaged. so dont worry. only thing that could be bad is if its in the shoulder. but since youve got road hazard protection its covered.

For once I agree with him lol. But hey, if they'll give you a free tire out of it....

Well, I went there and it was only a pinhole.. but since it got driven on the sidewall is appearantly damaged. Luckily my parents found my reciept and cert. at home which surprised me because I didnt even know where it was... I got it faxed over and theyre gonna ship my tire in 3-5 days. So right now my car looks gay as aids until next week.

Didn't you know that's the race look? It's the same reason the ricer's take their hubcaps off. Way to go!

paarman97maro 06-10-2007 02:43 AM

lol yeah... from 18s to like 12s lol. It looks rediculous. For the first time in my life, Im embarassed to drive my car. Just driving 5 miles home from DT got me enough looks. Ill be riding the bike a lot this week to work.

NoRiceInside 06-10-2007 03:07 AM

does it pull to the left hard? it looks way too small. even in that pic i can tell the car is leaning left.

its a ****** donut.. what do you expect lol.

yeah I have to turn the wheel slightly to keep it straight.

NoRiceInside 06-10-2007 03:25 AM

well im surprised they didnt scrounge up a used tire or something for you. those are only meant to be driven something like 50 mph or less and only something like 100 miles max.

They didnt have any used the size I needed, I asked. And Ill keep it to city streets... Luckily both my jobs are about 10ish miles away. Ill ride my bike to one and back and drive to the other. Kinda blows I cant drive the interstates cause I use them everyday.

mxracerbrian 06-10-2007 04:09 AM

ugh thats way lame paar....way lame

69z-28 06-10-2007 01:17 PM

ill give you the one reason discount tire is slow.....

we do free flat repairs, rotation, rebalance and air check. so while we are in the middle of putting on 4 22" wheels and tires and the lugnuts are stripped on someone elses hoopty *** car, we need to fix paars flat for free. and there are usually people ahead of him waiting. if you come in when no one else is there, the flat repair should take about 10 minutes, if its busy, youll wait forever to get the car in the garage but once its in, its quick. the thing that sucks about any shop like that is it really doesnt depend on how many people come in, so much as it depends on when they come in. when we get 10 people that come in the last 5 minutes of us being open, that means we need to stay an extra hour and a half or so, when we were almost done 5 minutes before close. its really about timing and how many people come in at once.

if it was just a hole paar, like caleb said, no problem to fix it but as soon as you run that tire low it will start crumbling and then its no good. if you bought certs tho your all set. free tire!!! good luck with that
