They cause a restriction in the intake. In general, restrictions dont make power.

LOL

They guys who market Engine Rebuild in a Can, Slick 50 and all those other automotive snake oils also insiste they work, do you belive themas well?

Anyways you're better off spending the money on a quantum flux capacitor, I did.

v-tech 03-29-2005 05:07 PM

Ok well I can clearly see that you guys don't believe in it ....but did 1 of you or anyone ACTUALLY try it???

skillton 03-29-2005 05:18 PM

why don't you go waste your money on it and stop wasting bandwidth.

toalan 03-30-2005 02:39 PM

OKay I got one of these things. it is on my jeep, I bought it last month and it came with it, The guy who sold me the jeep said it gave him better mileage and more HP. I will take it out one day and see if it is true.

It's been dyno tested
you lose about 2 peak hp on a honda motor

The only applications where it could potentially work, is on BIG 400+ ci carbed or TBI engines... but alot of domestic V8's, just because of the OHV layour, have a built in port bias that generates good swirl.
Others have built in bumps that enhance swirl.... gen 3 heads, for example, have little 'ski-jumps' cast off to one side of the valve guides

FACT:

I Dyno tested a 2001 Type R motor with bolt ons made 178whp

Tested it withe the tornado made 178whp didn't lose power anywhere

#1 The tornado is not a restriction as you may think
#2 it does work on big motors with poor intake plenum designs

It does work on some applications, but for the 99.99 with a money back gaurentee you be the judge, its funny how so many people put it down yet have never tested it or tried it. I was sent to the dyno with it on different cars to see if it worked.

Red Liner 03-31-2005 07:07 PM

i had it on my Volvo.....

WAIT!!

before u start throwing bricks at me, the car came with them....yes, it HAD 2, the idiot that i bought the car from had one before the turbo and one before the intake manifold

i was so disgusted when i saw them i immeditely ripped them out.

btw, that Volvo had worse milage than my previouse exact same one....

the problem is not the restriction
it could potentially break up laminar flow depending on how the intake is actually routed

fastestcivic 04-01-2005 11:24 AM

...

waste of money...

TOILETDUCK 04-01-2005 01:35 PM

I work at performance improvements, I actually have sold a lot of these, we have a 30 money back guarntee and you know what, very few have came back, mainly due to fitment, but I have had several customers say good things, we had a customer dyno on a trans am(lt1) and he said he picked up a few hp with it, Like I said before 30 money back, buy one, try it, and if it doesnt work bring it back, no questions asked.

spilner 04-01-2005 03:45 PM

if u drive a truck or something with a big displacement these actually work well.
all u honda guys dont bother wasting $100 bucks.
