do ya'll kno ne links for jus i guess basic turbo information. such as the t3 or what not. jus wanna learn some more about turbos. thanks in advance

There really isnt a link I know of that just lists turbo types for certain applications.

yeah. im jus bored and wantin to learn about differnt things. but i was jus curious to the differnt types of turbo's, ect.. i kno a little bit about them, jus not the names, and waht they have the capibility of producing.

Well, the size of the turbo in reference to the air displacement of the engine makes the horsepower. So lets say you have a 120hp 4banger with a t80 in it (Thats a pretty damn big turbo) it wouldnt spool the turbo til wayyy after the end of the powerband and would be a total waste, and make almost no horse. Its all about getting the right size turbo for the engine.

Im not sure if this is 100% accurate, but, my common sense has always told me, since only 14.7% of our air is actually oxygen, 14 lbs of boost should effectively double the horsepower of an engine, because you are introducing a 2nd enviroment to the engine.

There are two main types of turbos. Turbos people are using, and turbos for sale.
