Garrett GT ball bearing turbo.
Anywhere in the GT28 to GT35 range, depending on your power goals.

Or if you have money to waste, HKS instead of the garrett ones.

Big 16G... it bolts up and flows lots. Done.

The Garret GT turbo's will require you to get a new exaust manifold(or adapter plate), o2 housing, and downpipe. But if your serious about making good power and don't mind spending the $, thats the way to go.

A big 16G is a direct bolt on, so you won't need anything else to run it. It is also a very good street turbo, with full boost around 3K(usually before) and good top end. I used to have an EVO3 16G myself. To take full advantage of whatever turbo u decide on, you'll need to do your fuel system, and a free-flowing exaust wouldn't hurt either.

Why are you looking for an ECU, whats wrong with yours?

I would assume he is looking for an aftermarket ecu to match the larger turbo for tuning reasons. Whether or not such a thing exists for that car/engine I have no idea as I am not familiar with that car/engine. It may be possible that the stock ecu can be re-flashed or whatever...

If you want to venture into standalone ems, there are tons of them. Haltech, electromotive, aem, motec, and the list goes on depending how much money you want to throw at it.

I personally have a MegaSquirt II EMS. Full ignition and fuel control at a price that can not be beat. Just a little harder to assemble/install then the other units...

Reflashing is possible if he has an EPROM ecu, which is pretty rare. If he does, he could get a new chip to match his set-up for about $50cnd. I personally run DSMlink, but that also requires an EPROM ecu. As Adam mentioned, if your looking for a full stand alone, Mega Squirt would be good to look at. I know a couple of ppl running it and they love it. For the price it can't be beat.

A DIRECT bolt on replacement would be a T28, its not bigger then the T25 (stock for the 2nd gens) but at higher boost levels it is much better. It looks like the stock one, and bolts up exactly the same.

The 16G is NOT a direct bolt on. It is for the 1st gens (90-94) but not for us 2g guys. You will need a "2g install kit" which includes some things to install it it.
Also a cheap alternative is just to get a 14b turbo off of a stock 1st gen dsm. It is better then the stock T25 we have, and you can get it cheap. BUT again you will need the install kit. The good thing here though is the 14b trubo+ the install kit will not cost you a lot. You can get a decent 14b used for cheap and make your install kit your self (cant remember every thing you need, but check DSMtuners.com - Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser Performance there are a lot of threads on the install kit)
The 14b should be good to start with, this will let you get faster then stock. Then once this is not enough for you, you can upgrade to the 16g, but you will no longer need the install kit (as it is the same for the 14b)

Oh and finally with any turbo upgrade you will need some fuel mods. IF you go the 14b route you can get away with just a walbro 190 fuel pump. But if you go 16G or t28 you will need more mods.

hope this helps some.

i would say go with either the t28 or a 16g turbo, no mods needed, and tons of power. but if you want to go for the 16g youll need a kit to make it a dircet bolt on its just a few little pipes to make it work, not rocket science, and its cheap as well, look it up if you decide to buy it
