Went to the track and FAWWKK I need some slicks...

Alright, to begin, absolutely horendous times, didn't beat my best of 10.7@100, all due to spinning all the way through first, spinning 3/4 through 2nd, hitting the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift on a couple of runs (damn tuning still not right). The runs were all made in 44* to 33* temperatures on bald nittos. here the times are as follows:

Run 1

60 ft: 2.06
1/8 ET: 8.37
1/8 MPH: 82.4
1000 ET: 10.88
1000 MPH: 85.85 (have no clue how that happened)

That would be the best run of the night, that was spinning through 1st, 2nd, and hitting the rev limiter.

Run 2

60 ft: 2.33
1/8 ET: 9.03
1/8 MPH: 85.76
1000 ET: 11.34
1000 MPH: 98.10

This would be the slowest run of the night, although it had one of the highest traps of the night. This was spinning through 1st, 2nd, and hitting the rev limiter.

Run 3

60 ft: 2.20
1/8 ET: 8.57
1/8 MPH: 84.83
1000 ET: 10.90
1000 MPH: 97.44

This was me maunally shifting the auto, so it didn't tap the rev limiter at all, but did spin bad through 1st and 2nd.

Run 4

60 ft: 2.05
1/8 ET: 8.58
1/8 MPH: 85.32
1000 ET: 10.91
1000 MPH: 97.00

Once again, manually shifting, spinning through 1st and 2nd.

Run 5

60 ft: 2.17
1/8 ET: 8.57
1/8 MPH: 83.18
1000 ET: 10.94
1000 MPH: 95.70

manually shifting, spinning through 1st and 2nd.

So after tonight, I have DEFINATELY decided that Prostars and ET Streets are what i'm asking for for christmas or something, and that i've DEFINATELY got to get my tuning worked out, becuase it's KILLING my times. Any other thoughts?

MeenZ28 11-20-2005 12:33 AM

I wish i could askfor that kinda **** for christmas... i'll probably just get a sweater. :(

aarontracy 11-20-2005 02:30 AM

not bad.. once u get those 60ft times down and the tune fixed u'll be close the 7's in the 1/8

1BADVETTE 11-20-2005 10:37 AM

Yeah, if I can drop my 60 ft to 1.6 or so is what i'm aiming for with et streets and a tune, I think I could pull a 9.xx pass in the 1000 ft (only track in arkansas is 1000 ft).

how do you ask for something that will cost like 1000 dollars for xmas :banghead: man im jelous :p , so you were on drag radials and got a 2.3 60ft

those wheels and tires are 600 used. Yup, stalled up to 3200 after a GOOD smokey burnout and pulled a 2.3, but i was spinning the whole time, so it's time to get some stickier tires, and my previous best 60 ft was 2.0 with the stock stall and 2.73's.

you've got LCAs right? get some anti-quat brackets those will help with wheel hop a lot.

FORCE_FED_Z 11-20-2005 05:09 PM

Adam, tryin unhookin your front sway bar next time you go. If will help you unload weight to the rear and maybe cure some of that wheelspin. Other than that is sounds like sticky tires should help...

JesasaurusRex 11-20-2005 05:10 PM

Ya, try featherin it too tho man I got a better 60ft on some cheap *** 50 dollar for the pair POS street tires

donno if ur interested but heres a link of some LCA relocation brackets im sellin, should fit on a 4th gen as well

I dont know a hella lot about front end suspension, easy to do? could i do it at the track or does it take awhile? It's 1.5 hours from my house to the track.

Ya its easy, can take it off at the track and then put it back on if u so wish.

NoRiceInside 11-20-2005 05:44 PM

yeah the sway bar simply bolts to the front lower a arms. you can probably leave it in the car, just unbolted on the ends.

meissen 11-20-2005 06:40 PM

Yeah, let me tell you from experience, having a sway bar that isn't bolted but still in position really is worthless (as in, it doesn't work positively for your suspension). For the first two years of owning my car, my sway bar was not bolted down at all, the bolts had corroded through and all that was left was the top of the bolt, the bottom was long gone. After buying new bushings and bolts, I felt a huge noticable stiffness in turns, so simply unbolting the sway bar will work for ya, Adam. Anyway, ****, good times lol.
