What's the best Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Since I'm running a completely different setup then I was last year, I need to acquire another fuel pressure because the FPR on the engine right now isn't designed for a boosted engine. I haven't really done that much research into them, but it's a turbocharged engine. I'm assuming that I'll need one that has some level adjustment (can change the amount of fuel pressure increase). Are there FPRs out there which allow you to adjust the point (boost level) at which the FPR starts increasing fuel pressure?

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

You will need one made specific for turbo engines. The one below by Holley is for fuel injected turbo angine's and comes with a vac/boost port.

I was thinking of something like this:

rabbitman 06-27-2005 08:37 PM

Paxton makes areally good one. That's whats in my VW.

Maluco 06-27-2005 08:57 PM

You need a rising rate FPR. Im not sure but I think its something like 11 psi of fuel presure for every pound of boost. Dont quote me.

The aeromotive is what I will be using as well.

This Aeromotive FPR is the exact same FPR used in all of our $2500 fuel systems we sell to 93+ Supras. We use this exact regulator on our 8 second, 1208rwhp Supra as well. The quality & finish are the best in the market.
That ebay auction is cheap too. Grab it.

Is anyone using the B.E.G.I./Car-tech FMU? What's that one like?

mark of tsr 06-28-2005 04:25 PM

what are you running for fuel managment? , a rising rate regulator is kinda getto, but it will work if you don't have any way of tuning your setup

SuprAdam 06-28-2005 04:36 PM

He is on E.............

......E-manage that is.

Do you want that 195lph supra fuel pump or what?

B6T 06-28-2005 10:36 PM

Let me think about it there Adam.

Yes please.

B6T 06-28-2005 10:38 PM

And yes, I'm running a GReddy E-Manage and wideband as well. And Mark, you better hope I don't see you on MSN or else you're getting bombarded with "how do I tune" questions... please don't block me

NOTORIOUS VR 06-29-2005 12:43 AM

Did I hear E-Damage? :D

B6T 06-29-2005 10:04 AM

What are you talking about?

I think an EManage is the best thing next to full standalone. Definately better then an SAFC.

Well, I'll agree its better then SAFC.. but I hear a lot of people saying it's junk (reputable shop owners that do know what they are talking about), and I've heard more then once person call it E-Damage... I thought that was kinda funny.

How much is that system anyways?

B6T 06-30-2005 05:49 PM

The EManage is only as good as the person using it. ;)

I got it for around $400 brand new

That goes for pretty much anything :thumbsup

That's not too bad at all... But you could have also gone to a full stand alone like Megasquirt for less then that, and be done with it if you think about it.

B6T 07-01-2005 04:47 PM

I was considering megasquirt... but I decided against it for a few reasons. First, I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting everything to work properly. I don't have the patience to solder a circuit board together. Second, I wanted to keep the car a daily driver. I don't think MS is good enough that I'll be able to get good gas milage or driveabilty like I would with a stock ECU and an EManage... which were the two primary reasons I went with that setup.

skillton 07-01-2005 10:07 PM

I'm running an aeromotive a1000. It can be adjusted 45-75psi or it can add pressure for every psi... forgot what the ratio is, but I won't be using that feature anyway

E-damage is like the ractive of tuning

B6T 07-05-2005 03:25 PM

Again... the Emanage is only as good as the person using it. :la:

100%rice 08-02-2005 09:26 PM

mmm.. pic up a AEM ther regulators are very accurate and its wat my brother is usen in his drag car

gtcrx 04-02-2006 07:10 AM

aeromotive in my opinion are the best

4g63t elantra 06-03-2006 12:36 PM

AEM is a great unit and its a 1:1 Ratio as well. They also bolt up to many Honda cars or get yourself a UFPR from ARM as well

STAY AWAY FROM B&M

^i love my b&m, why stay away?

You can't lower the fuel pressure with the B&M.

Just get an aeromotoive and be done with it. I've had 2 different aeromotive afpr's in the past and both worked perfectly, and have the ability to flow lots of fuel. I got mine in a kit. I beleive I paid $199us for my afpr, return line, fittings, and fuel rail adapter. The only thing I needed to add was a liquid filled fuel pressure gauge.

And your right, the Emanage is only as good as the person using it.

D16a6nos 11-05-2006 06:58 PM

praxton is good had no problem with it, it does 1:1 ratio

xcivicnationx 11-21-2006 02:55 AM

FMU's are garbage, they are cool if you drive a turbo'ed datsun pickup

turbocivic 11-24-2006 02:05 AM

show me a fast car running e-damage:smilie_da
