Wut to do?

My Eclipse's engine started knocking. I have $2,300 right now (and no job currently) so here are the options I see.

1. I can just sell my Eclipse as-is for maybe $2,500 or something and get a Firebird

2. I can have the engine rebuilt and have pretty much no more money. If it breaks again idk wut I would do though.

3. I can keep it around, not fixing it right now, and buy another set of wheels and snow tires for my Camaro. I found a pretty good deal on snow tires I can put on a 17x9.5" wheel and I guess I can get all black C6 Z06 wheels or black with a polished lip C5 Z06 wheels. I would prefer them over stock f-bod wheels and snow tires but that is also an option. I can look for a good used engine although I think most of the used engines for these cars are blown up and new ones are expensive. I can keep trying to find a way to get the engine rebuilt for 1 to 1,200. I would have no more money if I get it all done and it's not really working out finding a way to get it done cheaper. My Eclipse has been down two weeks now.

I'm not sure wut to do. Should I buy snow tires and keep trying to find a way to fix my Eclipse with the remaining money, or should I fix my Eclipse, or should I sell it as-is and buy another car?

Does anyone know of any good 6 bolt DSM engines for sale? The machine shops around here all have reputations of doing good and bad work and being slow. I've also heard it's typically 1,500-1,800 to rebuild one.. if I could keep it down to 1,200 I could afford snow tires and a rebuild and then I'd be set for winter. My Camaro's ABS is inop, I think I need to replace the ABS computer, it has no TCS, it is low, and the only set of tires I'd drive on it in the snow with are the almost bald, cracking all season runflats I have on my chrome C5 Corvette wagon wheels which are probably a better option than driving it on the summer tires I have on there currently.

I personally would sell it for a firebird. But I would also consider the winter weather if you dont have a fwd or 4x4 it might getting ******.

You don't have a job. Why would you sell the car and buy a Firebird? I mean, sell the car, yes, but to go and buy another car without a job? Don't you need money to, y'know, live?

I recommend (in this order):
1. Leave your $2,300 in savings alone
2. Get a job (or find a sugar daddy)
3. Sell the DSM and buy something for the winter

I may just be some 22 year old Canadian guy, but sense has taught me not to buy into liabilities without any sort of proper cash flow coming in. What says the Firebird you buy to replace the Eclipse doesn't grenade the motor due to some well-covered-up abuse from previous owners?
