Im new to this
 

hi my names jay, im new to this whole car thing but i really have been getting into cars lately, im 18 so i guess its kinda to old to get into cars but they really are itneresting to me now, i live in michigan, i drive a 4 door automatic 2000 mazda protege. one thing im really wondering, is if its worth trying to modify an automatic car, or if its just smarter to buy an older manual car and work with that, for one, i dont knwo much about cars at all, but im willing to learn, so if anyone also wants to teach me some stuff just online ya know, that would be great too, but im real curious about that modifying an auto transmission. is it really worht it? thanks.

thanks to both of u guys for that. makes me feel better about wanting to make a nice lookin car. but now lol i need some help and some suggestions on where to get good stuff and everything, i mean i have friends that could teach me how to put it on, cuz i dont knwo any of that kind of stuff but id love to learn, but any suggestions on good online places or anything. thankss
