Hey Nick,

I want to go look at an 87GT. I was wondering if you being a mechanic would like to take a look at the car with me? You would know more than me and I'd be willing to pay you for your time. If interested get back to me ASAP. I would like to go look at it this weekend.

I'd hate to point out the obvious, but maybe the best course of action would be to bring the car to Nick's shop. Being a mechanic, I know that time has value and any money you spend at Nick's to have him verify the car would be money well spent.
From the looks of it, it's a pretty good looking car minus the Porno Red interior... but for the money I'd definitely ask the owner to bring it to Nick's shop. Flash him some cash, show the seller that you're serious about purchasing and unless he has something to hide he'll bring the car down for you. If the seller refuses, keep looking. Any Stang you buy, have it taken to Nick's for a checkup. I've met him on just one occasion and I could tell he was a standup guy!!!

That's not a bad idea. I'll talk to the seller than I'll try to contact Nick. His shop is like 5 mins away from me abd I work just up the street from his shop.
