2001 accord ex 4cyl with 56 k. Check engine lite on. Code said misfire. Replaced

plugs. Check engine lite on? dealer replaced all 4 plugs but not plug wires. dealer suggest cleaning fuel injecter system and replacing #4 cyl injecter. The original code said there was a misfire on the # 4 cyl. the dealer replaced all four plugs but not the wires. The check engine lite is back on . Any help would be appreciated before I spend more money on dealer guess work.

for one if you replace the plugs always replace the wire set too. its a 50/50 shot that the plugs are bad or the wire set is bad, and most likely it is the wire set, if it is missfiring the wire set would cause that, ive had it happen to me and wonderd why it was doing that, like you i changed the plugs, it still did it so i changed the wire set, problem solved.

f.y.i. dont go to a dealer for small problems when you can do it yourself, they over charge just to look at it, do it your self and save lots of cash.

and they suggest more expensive things like the injector, not the most likely solution just another off the top guess, they dont realy trouble shoot just guess, and guessing is exspensive.

basicly just give your car a tune up, and keep it up to date on its routine maintenance. these problems wont happen. good luck

It could also be a corroded terminal on your distributor. Try taking it off and cleaning corrosion w/sandpaper. You could also do a compression test to check all cylinders. A tester is about 15 bucks. Also good technicians don't just guess. The shop will charge appx. 75 to 90 bucks an hour flat rate and the technician who is overworked and underpaid will get about 23 dollars out of that, per hour, and it may realistically take 2 hours to diagnose and repair. The shop then gets 150 to 180 dollars and the tech gets 23. Yes, I know, I was I.
