2009 Honda Accord. Buy the 4 cylinder or V-6?

I am debating on buying the 2009 Honda Accord 190 HP EX-L 4 cylinder or the V-6. Due to the high gas prices and the HUGE size, I am wondering if there is a major difference in performance. If so, which one is the better choice in the long term? I heard that the 4 cylinder model's headlights dim when the A/C cycles. Should I just get Civic EX-L instead or do folks still associate that car as being entry level?

I'll be perfectly honest with you man. If you're worried about the image your car gives off, you dont want to be driving any Honda. I'd get the 4 cylinder. If you are trying to have a performance car, just get something else.

For simplicity, I would prefer the 4 cylinder. More economical of course, and less costly to repair. The V6 is a tighter fit and has more moving parts. If I were to buy a Toyota Camry, I would go with the 4. I have never heard of the Headlights dimming when the A/C cycled. It could be a weak alternator on some of those. The V6 will be smoother and have more power. This 4 cylinder Japanese motors have come a long way having power like a V6, but not quite as smooth. They are better these days. You will pay more for the V6 of course. My advice is talk to owners of these cars and test drive all models before making a decision. I was anticipating buying one of these with a diesel in it, but Honda killed it and will put that in the more expensive Acura TSX. I would check out a Civic as well. It may be an entry level car, but they are now bigger. Maybe as big as an older generation Accord. It will be more economical as well. Good luck

Buy the V8 model. What difference. Obviously you have forgotten WHY you are even looking at a Honda. Pay for fuel thru the nose.

Where did this concept of "entry level" come from? The dealers(in order to "up sell" you to the more costlier model, or the oil companies for more fuel useage.?? At $20,000 nothing is "entry" level. It's your money they are after, not your welfare. They don't care where you stand socially.
