This happen to like most of the Honda's that i've had. I've heard it's the clutch that slips occasionally, or the flywheel or that you simply need a to replace the speedometer with another one. They will read what ever they feel like reading work and not work on and off until it dies completely. It's something that happens with all Honda's. It's happen to like 2 Civics and 2 Accords that i had and my current Accord has it, i've gotten use to driving without the speedometer. It's not a big thing really.
