Engine Replacement for 97 Accord?

We are trying to replace the engine b/c the solenoid rings (?) are worn? idk but the oil is spraying all over the underside of the hood. when you take the oil cap off you feel a puff of air that is a rhythm of about 2 per second and you can feel at exhaust pipe too. was told it was the s rings- should we replace whole engine? car has been in 2 serious front end accidents in 2 years. if we do replace whole engine, is there any other makes/models besides ours we can use? having trouble finding one

Before you replace the engine take it in and get a professional to diagnose it.

They will explain the problem and give you solid advice on the best way to fix the car.

I would stop by your local Honda dealership and just ask the service manager for some advice.

Chances are he will do it for free or a very small charge.

Maybe your engine can be fixed cheaper than changing it.
