The Honda Accord 2000 SE ...?
This is my first car purchase, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing? I visited a wholesale used car dealer and put a down of $500 on a Honda Accord 2000 SE (200K). Priced at $6500 tax/warranty not included.Records indicate that the timing belt and water pump has been changed. The Car history is good with no accidents. However its not certified (no safety, no emission) and may not be, or it may cost me more to have it certified. How much i have no idea, he said he will take it to his mechanic let me know how much more that would cost me.What now?

1)Have a friend or family member thats car savvy?Recruit them to help you look at the car, buying a car without checking important things such as tranny, tire wear, alignment, etc. could be a costly mistake.2) $6500 seems awfully high for a car with 200K under the belt, go to kbb.com and get an estimate. Yes, it's a Honda, which are great for high mileage, but don't last forever.3) Play hardball, your doing business with someone who WANTS to give you the short end of the stick.4) Good luck and don't put a Fart Can or Wing on that thing.
