How can I restore fuel efficiency to my 2002 Honda Accord?

I have a 2002 Honda Accord, 2.3 litre. As per specification, it should run about 100 km/10 litres in city and 100 km/7.2 litres on highway. But it's giving me an average mileage of 100km/10 litres where I drive most on highways. What are the ways to restore efficiency to my 2002 Accord?

Your car does not need premium gas so do not run it. It is a waste of your money and of oil refineries limited abilities. If you have not in the past you can change the air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, and clean the fuel and intake systems. Also make sure that you change your oil regularly and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure listed on teh sticker on the drivers door well. Also, cars do not live up to the specified fuel standards that car companies claim. Up until model year 2007 the fuel economy was derived using out of date techniques. In 2008 the way they calculate this was completely changed. Go to this website for the old and new numbers http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/ratin...shtmlaccording to it the ratings dropped about 5%.
