Manual tranny trouble?
i have a 1994 honda accord EX. the problem is, the reverse gear is not working. it would go into gear, it just grinds but doesn't go in. the forward gears are fine and smooth. what could be the problem? am i better off buying a new transmission? or have it repaired? would it be costly to have it repaired?

it would be better to buy a transmission it will come the same price and usually when a transmission messe up you have to get a new one

A car that age, you may be able to get a "rebuilt" transmission ESPECIALLY for that make\model.
. The only reason to get a new one is if every other major system has already been overhauled and you want to keep it a very long time. Brakes, Valves\pistons, fuel system, radiator and suspension to name a few. Compare the cost of a tranny from the dealer, transmission repair shops and a trusted mechanic who has worked on many Accord transmissions. Good luck |
