$1500 Honda?

Is it possible to find a perfectly working Honda for $1500? I've been looking around and all of them seem to have at least something wrong. I'm in love with the older Civic hatches (94s) but I'm not picky as long as it's a Honda.

Think I should just give up now and look for something else? Or is there people actually selling drivable Hondas for that price?

Thanks.

You got to expect to be something wrong with an older car.Thinking its going to be perfect is silly. From my point of view the cheaper the used car the more work it needs to make it a drivable state and /or work needed (not always tho). Look for a Honda thats 3000-4500 price. and instead of paying for repairing/parts it you spend more on the car itself. But yeah buying a good used Honda takes patience as many of them are driven to the ground.Dont feel bad a boy of mine has been looking for a 1.6EL for 5 months now that he liked but finally he found one. So keep searching. I learned to drive stick in a 94 civic cx hatch so i like those too.The only thing that stops a Honda from lasting forever is RUST.

Thanks for the reply.

I found a 94 Civic that I'm checking out probably next weekend. Hopefully nobody snatches it up. Only downside is a little rust on the quarter panels but I was expecting that.

Is it expensive to get body work done around Ontario? If I end up getting this, I plan on going all out on it as my dream car is a 94 Civic.

The quarter panels by themselves are cheap 50-100$ a pop. Its the labour that is expensive with cutting, welding, masking, priming and painting etc.A friend of mind was quoted 1500 for the Quarter panel replacment and paint but it differs from shop to shop. So the best idea is call them and get quotes for the work. But if you dont want to spend as much them bondo them up. But when you get your hatchback rip out the plastic peice sitting in the rear wheel wells cause thats why its rusting. All that crap gets trapped in there and eats away the metal. Good luck!

Well I'd like to do all the work myself, I just don't have the knowhow. If it's not that difficult, I'll probably do everything. I plan on fixing all the rust spots then getting it painted professionally.
