1991 Civic Hatch, Emissions -High NOx

It's emissions time for my ride and looks like I'm in the red on NOx.

The car has been sitting for about 6 months now but is going to be used regularly soon. I had a simulation test done and once the cat. converter was lit my HC and CO levels were fine but the screen was showwing approximately 1000 ppm of NOX. I know these care have no EGR valves so let's not bother. I was thinking backing the timing of a couple degrees to cool down the conbustion charge but I'm worried the hydrocarbon and co levels will increase. Any ideas ladies and gents?

how much have you driven the car since it has been sitting? alot of stock honda motors run poor when started after long periods of time. I say drive the car for a little while to clean everything out, then get your emissions. Also, check what your reading for an air fuel mixture. you want a 14.7:1 ratio.. possibly need an o2 sensor

try using some methyl hydrate in the tank

I will definately try driving the car around for a while using some decent gasoline. As for the 02 sensor....I'm sure it would help me in the HC and CO numbers but i doubt any change could be seen for nox. Thanks for the help.
