2-2 civic hmmm.

swap was done. pulled like an animal for a day until the distributor coil (to the msd box) popped out, possibly due to stiff urethane mounts and heavy vibration. car shut off. i cranked the car while the wire was out which could have caused the smoke that appeared (and no i didnt crank it with the knowledge that the wire was out). plugged it back in, car started, everything seemed fine but didn't pull nearly as much in all rpm ranges, v-tec sputters sometimes, idle rpm fluctuated. spark plugs and wires are pretty shotty as it is so that is the first thing i am going to replace. im getting full voltage from my battery which suggests that the alternator, battery and wiring isnt a problem. not sure if the spark from the loose wire to the msd might have looked for ground and messed something up or if the msd box itself got mangled. let me know if you have any ideas or need more info.

probably damaged your ignitor or the msd box, more likely the ignitor, but it makes me more nervous that when your coil wire was out it didn't blow the battery fuse, so that 40 000 volts had to go somewhere.....

k. heres the update...wires and spark plugs were changed. Result: slightly more responsive however nothing dramatic or sufficient enough to account for all the loss in power.

2nd, ignitor in the distributor was changed out in the event that it was blown. no change in power and sputtering of vtec

msd blaster will be swapped next, most likely. not sure after that....chip/computer???? impossible, otherwise it would have not worked sufficient from the get-go....ideas anyone?

msd blaster was swapped for a new one. no change unfortunately. running out of ideas!!!

so car dies on me on monday on the way to work. lights inside, guages, radio. you name it. i jump start it to metallex. turns out my alternator was bust. got it fixed and put right back on. still didnt pull. F**k..... turns out when we checke dhte cat, we did a half ass job....We double checked it by running without the cat. Thing hauls ass again...actually its even faster...Just loud as a b**ch for now cuz its a straight pipe basically.

Mayo, you were right...your 99% guarantee holds up.
