2001 Honda Civic engine noise?

Hi all,I have a beautiful cute 2001 automatic honda civic. I change the engine oil, brake fluid regularly; Also keep an eye on the coolant.Lately though, during cold starts, it started to make making a medium pitched continuous noise whose frequency increases with higher engine rpm. The noise reduces after the engine warms up but it doesnt completely go away. its hard to describe the noise but i know its not the transmission because it happens even during park, its not the exhaust, its not the fans - they obviously dont turn on until the engine warms up. The car runs fine, has the same acceleration as before, maintains engine temperature well etc.Thank you all for your kind advice in advance.Noise description: not groaning, does not change when you turn the steering, isnt from the passenger/driver side. I can hear it clearly from the engine. Its not a ticking noise. it doesnt depend on whether you drive it or not.I guess its best described as a squealing/screeching sound.
