2004 Civic Sedan Battery Light
My sisters car was acting up a few months back. The battery light was
flashing so I figured its the cars charging system. I went and check the voltage of the battery by testing it with a DMM and it read below 12v. I went and got a rebuilt alternator and changed it last year of september. Now the battery is ON but this time its not flashing. The meter reads below 12v when the light is on. I went and make sure all bolts were all tightened, cleaned the terminals, etc.....then the light went out. This morning again, on her way to work, the battery light went ON!!. Can someone tell me what this could be? Is there a chance that this could be the alternator again? or maybe a bad battery not holding a charge? the car has only 75kms with a rebuilt alternator but still have the stock battery. any help would be greatly appreciated. |
have the battery tested. also if you connect your multy meter to the alternator what do you get?
|
less than 12v.

take the battery and alternator to a canadian tire they will test them for free if they turn out to be good then check all you wires for breaks and courosion.
|
when connected to the alternator you should get 14.X volts
