gotta a b16a2...some mods are skunk 2 cams, aem cam gears, unorthodox pullys, cold air intake cai, type r header, and type r intake manifold and throttle body...i also have a vafc2 which i havent hooked up...as well a apexi header back exhaust syteem.....now.....for ecu , i have a p73 type r....with a vafc to lower the vtec down from 5900 to 5500....should i bother to go obd 1..if so, why and what diffrerences can i expect..

if you go obd1 you can use a p28 and burn a custom chip for your setup. In my opinion this is a great idea....way better than just tuning with a vafc.
When you add or subtract fuel with the vafc it adjusts the timing automatically (+fuel=retarded timing, -fuel=advanced timing), which isn't a desired result.
But with a p28 you (actually your tuner) can adjust the fuel maps and ignition maps independantly using uberdata or crome providing you with the best tune and best results.
IF this is the route you do decide to go with i strongly recommend using a ZIF socket when chipping your ecu.

he's right the p28 is the better choice, but check out Hondata. The s300 is a great buy, if you wanna tune yourself, and even better, on the fly.

hondata would be the most expensive because you have to purchase the S100/200/300, and the software if you want to tune yourself.
I'd go with a crome chipped p28. Crome can datalog and do real time programming....if you purchase cromepro. As with the hondata you would need to buy a ROM emulator to do real time programming and a burner for once your done making adjustments. But you can get cromepro, a burner and an "ostrich" (ROM emulator) for the cost of just of the hondata unit.
Cromefree is great and you can datalog with your choice of free software (freeware) instead of spending $150 on cromepro, but you will need a wideband o2 setup and datalogging cable.
For lots of people its just cheaper/more practical to get someone else to tune their car for them instead of buying all of the equipment and learning how to not blow their car up.

u dont have to buy all 3, u have the option of either of the 3. the s100 is simply a chipped ecu, the s200 is chipped and tuneable with a laptop but not realtime. and the newest s300 is the most advanced costing 600 US. but worth every penny as it tunes in realtime. And the software is included in the bundle. yes the chrome program is cheaper, but with research and knowledge any true "tuner" would rather the hondata systems.

its only $450 for everything you need to datalog and real time program with cromepro. I prefer crome and know lots of tuners at shops use crome as well...but its what ever floats your boat. There's a few different routes to go.
