Question A Basic Introduction.....

Hello to everyone. I'm a noob on this forum and wanted to introduce myself. and I suppose my car. I'm a welder and a N.D.T. Technician and I also enjoy driving the out of my car. And with driving the out of it, I also have to fix it.... LOL

My car is a 2000 civic with a Jdm front clip, right hand drive and a b20. well there is alot more but I want to keep this short... Here are some pics to fill in the blanks.

1)The First pic is the car now, thou a bad pic....
2)The second is my b20 after I did the right hand drive and wide body.
3 &4)The last two pics are what was left of it after Targa Newfoundland. But we welded a new truck and quarter panel on it and went on to finish the rally.

So on to my questions, The B20/Vtec post at the top of the page is great but I would like some more info, and it seems like there are some b20 owners around here.

I have a 2000 b20Z with about 35,000 on it. and a 2000 B16a Head. I also have a Eaton M62 Blower. I also have Dsm 450cc and a Tuned Megasquirt on my B20 now. So on to the parts, I have the Golden eagle dowel pins coming and The oil feed lines from a old turbo motor I had. Which brings me to my first question.

1) The b20 has a 84mm bore, the B16a combustion chamber diameter is 81mm. Would you recommend having the 1.5mm of material removed from the combustion chamber and reshape it? Not sure on if it matters or not, but to me it would be a great spot to get hot and cause detonation.

2) The second question is on block pinning, I had a friend pin his block and it split, he said it was the pins stressing the cylinder wall in one spot, I think he over torqued them, does anyone have this done? Have you had a good experience.

3) The last one is on the Titan ICS Copper Headgasket, has anyone used one? are they any good? The stock gasket thickness for the b20 is .30 and the Titan ICS is .43. What will this do for Compression, obviously lower it, but by how much?? My B20 is 9.6:1 stock, so with the B16 Combustion chamber being smaller in diameter, my compression should rise to say 9.8:1 (guestimate). Then the head gasket.... I plan on putting 7-8 psi at most as this will pretty well max the M62, well not maxed but not thermally effiencent.

So anyway that's is my first post. It was long anyway.... Sorry.... time for a
