Best motor swap for a 92-95 civic

I got a 95 civic hatch and wanna make some serious power what would be my best bet for a swap and does any one know how it all installs as well

Built high compression K24 bottom end with built K20 top end, individual throttle bodies, header, standalone EMS, cams, and nitrous. Or swap in a B16A.

a k-swap? unless you have money to blow I wouldn't go near a K.

What are your power goals and budget? NA or FI?

sloaks 02-01-2006 03:09 PM

Im looking to spend around 6 thou and make about 400whp

Premium Dude 02-01-2006 03:10 PM

Its hard to say, because there is no one best engine for anyone. When you say serious power, what do you mean. To some people 200hp is serious power, to others its 1000hp.
Plus how much money do you have to spend on this serious power? If you have a big budget, yes go with a k-series, there is good potential there. If your on a smaller budget, strengthen your engine, and boost it.

teg_gsr 02-01-2006 03:15 PM

the best way to hit 400whp cheap.. is too boost a b-series.

d16 of course....

I'm not so suure the question was:

"Which setup will only last 30,000 kms?"

with $6000 you can build a reliable boosted ls/vtec

Honda Tech 02-06-2006 12:56 PM

for sure, LS/Vtec is certainly the way to go for that budget, I'm in the process of getting a B18A1, then hooking up a B16 head, then hopefully an edlebrok turbo kit, it is a great setup and there are lots of parts out there for that exact motor built

Premium Dude 02-06-2006 06:13 PM

If your doing an ls-vtec and turbo, I suggest doing it at the same time. If your already tinkering with the engine, you might as well build it up for turbo while its apart instead of stripping the engine twice. Plus you will be able to run more boost out of it.

how hard is it to do an h22a swap into a 95 civic i herd it is pretty easy and is fast as hell

BrowNKiD 02-06-2006 06:23 PM

its pretty decent but no where near 400whp
