Can a HONDA beat a FERRARI in a 1/4 mile?

My ARMY recruiter doesnt believe me that it's possible.. Just straight motor upgrades.. No JET ENGINES or any stupid stuff like that.. how much whould you need in CASH to build a motor to beat a ferrari.. Serious answers only please.. thanksGive me your reasons

Of course it can.Speed costs money; how fast do you want to go?!?=)Turbochargers will give you the biggest ultimate bang for your buck. Of course, you''ll need to harness all the power, so don't forget the clutch, tranny, suspension and brakes.

a well tuned honda nsx will beat a lot of ferrari's . shame you didnt say nissan the skyline can whip em . go on you tube and put "honda ferrari" in the search box and there is a few handa v ferrari drag races with honda winning some .

Yes...if the Ferrari has a cruise ship anchor tied on to the back of it...

My guess is since it is a 4-6cylinder automobile, the choices go to the following, However this may only possibly beat a Ferrari F40(I don't know if these will fit) S2000: add NSX engine and add a stage 3 turbo, performance intake, performance air and oil filters, Performance muffler and exaust, and adjust displacment and cpu for max power. Price: around $18,000 (roughly 550 hp on a lighter S2000 VS. a heavy 500hp F40, S2000 would win). Anything is possible, Ferrari can be humiliated by a Honda, just like Ford humiliated them in the 60's with the GT40 (People thought that it was impossible, but Ford's GT40 did 1-2-3 finish in LeMans with Ferrari behind by a mile.).

a honda civic can easily beat a ferrari in the 1/4. this can be done for well under 10,000 if a 1992-1995 civic hatch was provided. if not, probably around 10,000 to beat a ferrari.

if you add the restriction of "you can't use slicks", the task becomes much more daunting (of course, depending on the model of ferrari) for a civic, integra, or any FF car for that matter. your best bet would be a RWD S2000. cost for this would be in the 15-20k range, not including the cost of a s2000.
