car shoots to hto at idle
 

hey guyz... i recently replaced my thermostat in my 1990 honda accord exr(6months ago) and my car hasnt really been gving me problems other than bad gas milage..but recently when stopped for periods over 5 mins...my car shoots to hot....if i stick it in nuetral and rev it a bit it goes down... no coolant is leaking..wat could it be... i dont think it is the thermsotat. also the rad hose from the block to the rad seems huge...like stretched! any body kno wat the deal is with that?? i am gonna replace that soon... any other suggestinos...can anyone help? wat could it be...water pump not circulating?? any help is appreciated...thanx in advance..jay

well it sounds like the water pump is not working properly because you said if reved in nuetral the heat goes down so that would mean you put more power to you water pump as your belt is moving faster. so your water pump might be lacking power. Hope that helps a little.

i had the same problem. the water pump is on the way out.
when you rev higher it will engage and circulate your coolant. but the idle is too low to engage it so your motor will get hot FAST. meh just let it go and put an H22 in er ..
