do u kno why my accord drinks gas?
 

hey all...i got a 1990 accord exr..the car is great...runs great minus th efact that it cost 50 bucks to fill at 90 cents and gets me btwn 400 and 425 km to a tank...i kno that is horrible...i put in new plugs...air filter...tested and checked a few other things... and ideas??

did you check for small leaks?

LOL.. do you drive like a maniac? Is the car running stock ecu, or chipped?

take it easy....i drive nice in easy because i am trying to save on gas because the stupid car is drinking it like crazy! i dont beat on it...i changed alot of parts...need to cleanout the egr next...i do about 600km a week driving ack and forth to school...i dont kno wat else to change or fix...no leaks that i kno of.

car is bone stock minus srv rims and a cheazy exhaust the previous owner put on...havent had time to change it.

have you checked your engine light, cause in that year is when honda had both, engine light on dash, and the engine light on the ECU. so if you don't have a dash light, the ECU is under the passager side carpet,(under the glove compartment, carpet can be simply pulled back to read the blinks on the ECU)

my first inclination would be an O2 sensor dead and making it run rich.

no codes being shot from the computer...just a light comes on ethen goes off...no blinks no nothing...my muffler just fell off....gotta get that fixed...will update.

the engine light goes on and off?? or just when you start the car when the rest of the dash lights come on and off? and where is it on yours, on dash or on the computer?

cause if it comes on and off frequently, or any time after that, that may be code 1, which is 02 sensor.

when i turn the key forward but do not start the car the check engine light on the dash will stay on for 2 seconds... on the light on the computer the light stays on for two seconds wen the key is turned over...wen the car is startred there is no checkl engine light at all on dash or the computer.
