Help on headers

I bought these ractive headers from pmall to replace my stock ones because it had a crack all around in one of the piping and I got the new headers installed. But the problem is, there wasnt any support frame on the 2nd piece of the header to hold onto the under carriage so now its hanging loose. I'm scared that the screws and bolts might break off since theres no support to hold the 2nd piece of the header. And also I hear a bit of a whistling sound when I press the gas. I think its coming from the 2nd piece connecting to the cat. What could I use to patch the small leak between them?

Do you have a aftermarket intake ? they usually tend to whistle when they you get free flowing mods such as exhuast. I know the exact bracket you are talking about and i wouldn't worry too much about it. The reason it is there is to stop the exhaust manifold from moving so that the donut style exhaust gasket won't be prone to leaking. If you really want i am sure you could take the bracket to a exhaust shop and they could weld it on.

Yeah I do have an aftermarket intake. Should I be replacing it or should I just leave it? I always thought it would be some leak coming from between them. Thanks once again eh. I might bring it to a shop to get the bracket but like you said I don't have to worry about it.

i try to keep an open mind but i tend to agree that pm has some shortcomings .....i have been over to their part of the world and couldn't believe what could be knocked off....practically anything!
