Are Honda's engines built to last a long time?

Im shopping for a new car, and Ive been thinking about a Honda Civic mostly because of the price (the one Im looking at is 15,000). I really havent heard much about how long the engine lasts and if its common to have major problems with it. What do you think?

all modern engines are with proper maintance even though alot of people don't want to accept the fact but the imports are usually built to last better with less recalls

We're a three Honda family. If you look up resale value, Honda always comes out on top. The reason for this is exactly what you're asking. They're worth it because they last so long. My daughter's Civic has 140,000 miles on it, and we expect it to go to 200,000. Plus the gas mileage is fantastic.
