Are Honda's still Japanese being they are made in USA now?
 

My 07 Civic has an engine origin of USA and a transmission origin of Indonesia. Since the assembly point is in Ohio for all civics made in U.S., does that mean they are no longer Japanese? I know I'm probably wrong, since they are probably designed and engineered in Japan, right? Do all of these USA plants mean the cars are "made" here?

Depends how you look at it. If they are assembled in American plants by American workers, then they could be considered American. That is how Toyota got into NASCAR. However, you could also look at it like the ownership is still based in Japan. So it is a Japanese owned company.

Where a vehicle is assembled is irrelevant.All auto manufacturers have assembly plants all over the world. Honda has assembly plants in North America but it is a Japanese owned company. Profits go to Japan. my 07 civic was built in canada. does that add to your confusion?

"Assembled" in American plants by American workers, but the parts are brought over from japan along with the profit. In a American "plant" not a "assembly" plant parts are bought all over America like the seat belts for Ford are made in a company in St. Louis MO, the medal is stamped out in a stamping plant in the US, the iron is brought out of mines in the US, and the profit stays in America, If you think about it if you buy a car in the US you are helping employ Millions of workers. I was born in America and I love this country I hate seeing Americans lose their jobs because people have the persona of honda and toyota being invincible.
