How to E-Test on lowered cars
I know this might sound like a dumb question to most, but i'm curious to know the answer.
Anyway last yr i etested my car which is lowered 1.8inches. But they could barely get it on the dyno and the guy said how he couldn't do it because the machine couldn't read it, but he ended up getting some reading to pass me. What do you guys do with really low cars?. Is there a E-test avaliable where the car doesn't need to go on the dyno for the test?. If anybody knows please help thanks. |
For a lowered car, you can do a 2-speed idle test, they test the car at idle and 2500rpm to get the readings. It's intended for AWD vehicles or if for any reason the vehicle cannot be run on the dyno.

how about putting wood down to get the car on the dyno. Put wood under the tire where it would want to bottom out and it will clear.:smilie_da

i had to do the 2speed idle test. the guy told me it's easier to pass those cuz they have a higher limit.

yea i did the 2 speed too. my car was waaay too low to stick it on the dyno. passed with flying colors

^^^ very true the guy that did mine couldn't hook up the straps cuz it would **** up my bumper.

do the AWD test, go around to shops until you find someone willing to do it.

do you guys know what the Correction factor they apply to that...ie if the limit is 2500 ppm and then to go AWD they apply a 10% contingency which now brings the allowable limit 2750 ppm .... does anyone know FOR SURE what numbers are applied..

this post saved my life...I was so worried about gettin my car to pass the e-test...one more thing guys...my exhaust has a hole in the the muffler will that affect my readings??? not in the exhaust line in the actual muffler...???
