molding paint
 

Hey guys, I got a 2000 honda civic Si silver. I would like to paint the moldings silver and the skirts silver. anyone know where i can get this done at good price and good quality in toronto/scarborough thanks. Also i herd you cannot paint the stock skirts because the paint will flake off is this true, hopefully not but any info would be appreciated thanks.

if youre comfortable with your painting skills..u can actually do it yourself. Just take the moldings and sideskirts off the car, primer and paint with the exact paint colour of your car. Finally hit it up with some clearcoat. DO NOT sand or prep the moldings or sideskirts as ive heard that it leaves bad scratch marks. You could lightly scuff with 1500 grit sand paper but thats as low as id go.

the paint shouldn't have a problem sticking to the skirt aslong as it's clean and dust free. you can use adheision promoter on the parts as part of the paint process. even the oils from your skin touching the parts is enough to cause paint to flake off in a short time.

I painted the ones on my old car never had a problem

the paint on my side mouldings is starting to chip off along the edges
what should i do in order to restore them back?
would i need to remove the current paint entirely and redo it?
i would like to paint stock side skirts as well.
