The #3 and #2 pistons looked very scimilar to #4. bleh. Such as life. Being built better, and stronger Hope you all enjoy the destructive pictures.

So much for Honda bottom ends being good for 300hp... like the internet says.

That's an expensive mistake.

Red Liner 03-29-2005 09:47 PM

that was detonation....

ouch........

Fabius 03-29-2005 10:26 PM

Full Race Stage 3 kit. T3/T67 turbo
that on a bone stock engine... thats just stupid even if he ran 8psi
:retard:

Nakano-Kid 03-30-2005 12:39 AM

Well come on.. I run 7PSI on stock Mazda MX6 internals (Forged connecting rods and crank). But I wouldn't go any higher.

So what do you thinks happens when you run that kind of boost on a civic? (connecting rods like toothpicks). More thown rods then at a javalein competition.

Sickcars 03-30-2005 12:45 AM

Well now he learned his lesson. He wont do that again......Hopefully :sly:

Thats not the point... are you running a forsay decent size turbo unlike that guy who ran a T3/T67 turbo who knows the ar on the turbo but either way im pretty sure it was floaing alot.
then take into considaration 11:1 compression

munch 03-30-2005 01:32 AM

skillton 03-30-2005 03:29 AM

Damn, he must've had some shitty tuning, but still that sucks for only 8psi.
Some guy ran 35psi on a stock VW 16v engine(mixed and matched OEM VW parts in the block) and didn't blow it up, but he normally only runs about 28

JDMCRX 03-30-2005 06:51 AM

happens my built D series detonated and the sleeve exploded .

IF you ain't braking your not making enough power. :retard:

i know guys that are pumping 800hp to the wheels and they aint breaking does that mean they dont have enough power?

That statement is retarded. If you half-ass your setup, things are going to break. And if you're breaking too much , you're an idiot.

BOOSTED_ITR 03-30-2005 05:46 PM

i ran my itr on 6psi for like 3k and it was fine.....

but now it will be a different story :D

B6T 03-30-2005 06:00 PM

^ I bet your turbo wasn't as big as that guys though. Honda should build a factory turbo engine... put it in the S2000 or something.

v8_kllr 03-30-2005 06:14 PM

all it comes down to is alot of people think they know their by hanging out on forums and reading on the net. they also think stock motors are race motors, so it must mean you drive it like a race car. if you have vtec, you shouldnt boost a motor. it is for FUEL ECONOMY. not for POWER. when will people get the hint? if it doesnt come with a turbo from factory, dont put one on. even better, kids that buy that book how to build honda horsepower are instant mechanics since they are using someone else's knowledge to make their cars faster.just like this guy with his cooked motor. unfortunate, but a hard lesson was learned.

Isn't RTW a shoe store at Square 1? (Ready To Wear) :smilie_au

Victory is mine 03-31-2005 10:25 AM

Well, alot of factors come into play. Was the car tuned right, what fuel he/she was running e.t.c. It all depends how well the owner of the car is educated, u live and learn from mistakes.

Red Liner 03-31-2005 10:36 AM

why are we all shitting on the owner?

a component failure is immediately ruled out??

what if the injector failed to fire, or the fuel pump had a hickup?

and since we're measuring how much boost was run on wat

i ran 22 psi on bone stock Volvo engine with a 5th injector setup....booya

Victory is mine 03-31-2005 10:39 AM

Thats, whats wrong with people. People are quick to bad mouth the owner. But yet know nothing about what actually happened. Grow up.

B6T 03-31-2005 06:25 PM

^ It's not the people's fault that the internet conveys so much misinformation.

midrange 03-31-2005 07:30 PM

Ouch... did you happen to hear a ping noise

Strokerace 03-31-2005 07:46 PM

that looks a like a tuners or builders fault to me. I have seen 1.8's and 1/6's run on 8psi with factury set ups and not do this. What I have seen is the wrong octane fuel and some detenation to take out the top of the pistons.
