How you roll a car at the DDT is beyond me. It's the most stupid easy track to get out of trouble on. Looks like the case of somebody driving beyond his/her abilities.

soloz 04-24-2005 03:11 PM

Well apparently it is pretty easy to roll a car on any track, last year at the solo1 school I think on the second day at the DDT they had two or three cars go off the track and one of them was extremly lucky he didn't go over. The guy was driving an Jag coupe older style and was going down the straight away away from the bridgestone school building and must of cut the little kink to hard and slide for a while on the track and then on the grass sideways, the tracks in the grass were about 50 paces and a large pair of grass balls at the end.

So don't be fooled by it's easy looking small race track apperance, if it is going to bite you when you make a big mistake it's going to bite hard just like any other track.

mazdubber 04-24-2005 03:27 PM

Well, I probably have about 30 hours of seat time on the DDT including 7 races. It's a challenging course in many aspects, but it's one of the most forgiving tracks there is. There just isn't enough room to get major speeds. Driving the track clockwise, I'd barely get the F2000's in fourth gear before i needed to start braking. That was in the best conditions. There are some heart pounding corners, like turns 3 and 4 in the clockwise setup. Or double apex #2 when going counter clockwise. But when you get in trouble you can safely let in go off the track just about anywhere.
