will the d16z6 tranny be a straight bolt up (no mod necessary) to my d16y7 motor...

its a good upgrade too, just make sure to get a new throw out bearing and a pilot bearing if you feel like pullin the clutch off

brownkaos112 06-24-2005 05:49 PM

i dunno about a good upgrade... they're both auto transmissions

zman 06-24-2005 09:38 PM

oh, then i guess you won't need to replace the throw out bearing...lol.... Why not swap it for a 5spd? I mean its a little more work then just a straight tranny swap but worth it in the end.

i considered it but wanna stick with auto for various reasons... i dont enjoy 5speed in winter, my girl drives my car and cant drive stick, and i dont have the money for a auto to manual conversion right now...some guy offered me the z6 tranny for 150 so i jumped on it...

does anyone know how much the y8 auto tranny goes for... because the z6 tranny i got has a quite a few kms on it

If it doesn't bolt on, just weld it in :)
