suggestions on where to find a motor?
 

i live in LA and am desperately looking for a new motor. it's for a honda civic and i need a 1.6 VTEC. any suggestions as to where i should look, etc. i'm hoping for a price range of 600 - 800. any and all help is greatly appreciated thanks.

wreckers usually will have some?....Try looking there...best bet is looking for a civic with a smashed up back end....and the motor should be good....

check the junkyards and craigslist.com I have a 1.7 vtec im swapping for a k24 in a few months.

I drive stock cars and we get alot of our engines at junk yards from cars that were in accidents but did not harm the engine. We pay about $100 for them and then we add our racing parts. We never have had problems

Look on Honda online forums. Those guys can help out a lot.
