timing belt
I'm not too sure whether i should change my timing belt and water pump i think its recommended for 168,000 kilometers/7 years, i got a 2000 civic got 171k on it, im the second owner, and did not receive any records for it being changed, plus im hearing something comging i think from the alternator belt, some type of squeeking.
I'm gonna get the timing belt, water pump and alternator belt changed either way but don't know whether changing it now would be better then changing it late next year. one of my buddies had a civic with 400k on the stock engine and he never got his timing belt changed so i don't know, i guess its better to be safe then sorry. What do you guys think?

hey man, water pump and timing belt on honda's have to be/should be changed every 100,000Km, Ive seen a lot of honda owners that have not done it and there motors blow, but then I have friends like your buddy who have not done it and never had a problem, I think a $500-600 expense is better then a possible $3-5,000 expense for a new motor and install.
Oh yea I got my own 2000 Silver SiR, I love it man!
