Toyota, Honda top Consumer Reports reliability list
 

For Toyota and Honda Consumer Reports Annual Car Reliability Survey was something of a family affair. According to the magazine, these two Japanese companies account for the top five makes on the list.
The survey predicts future reliability based on past performance. Toyota is forecast to have the most reliable cars for the year, moving up from third place last year. Toyota displaced its sister-brand Lexus, which dropped from number one to number five.
Honda claims second place in predicted reliability, while Toyota's Scion division is forecast to claim third place.
Rounding out the top five, was Honda's Acura division.
For U.S. brands, Ford's Mercury division came in at number 10. But it was Ford's Lincoln division that made huge improvements.
The company's Zephyr model helped take Lincoln from 30th to 13th on the reliability charts.
Over at GM, the redesigned Yukon full-size SUV helped its GMC brand shoot up 11 spots to number 14.
Jeep is predicted to be the most disappointing among domestic brands, finishing 32nd out of 36 in the rankings.
