Tranny Issues on EK

i drive a 98 civic si, havent had the car for very long but lately i have had some tranny issues. when i shift into second gear the odd time it will jump out of second and go into neutral can anyone offer up some ideas that would be causing this to happen?

check your shifter bearings but, I would bring to shop, but just get them to find the problem then get the price or part and do it your self if u know.

Problems like these it's best to post most vital info as possible. How many Km's on it? changed the transmission oil on it yet, replaced the clutch yet? Is that the orginal transmission?

The best thing i would say is to replace the tranmssion fluid as trouble shooting maintainence. Oh yeah and use only HONDA MTF or even better GM SYNCHROMESH, some people use engine oil whihc can screw up the synchro operation.

their is 172,000kms, original tranny, tranny fluid oil just changed about 3 weeks ago, clutch has not been replaced to my knowledge

Alright you just got some recent service done, if it was done by a shop it should be i valid time to let them check it over, see if they filled up enough transmission oil in it. That's if the problem happened after they have worked on it.

Other than that If your car has been drivin' hard, or power-shifted alot your tranny might be on it's way out. I say live with it for now unless you have the cash to replace it.

Im sorry dud but i feel like correcting this a bit Shops dont forget to fill the tranny fluid up all the way. And if they did oil light would be on in this case it would be tranny fluid and you dont just leave problems small problems means its going to lead to a bigger problem when he could fix it know maby for like a few hundred then if he left it it would cost him a few grand for a new tranny
thats my oppinon but you have yours!
