vtec trans on non vtec
 

so im getting an itr transmission to put on my b18b1 and im wondering
if thats a smart move or is it just gonna slow my car down?
am i gonna be reving and not moving or is it gonna rip?
its an 01 itr lsd usdm 4.4 final drive
i do have plans to vtec my block in the future
but for now would it be alright?

acceleration will be killer. highway driving will suck. see if you can get the LS 5th gear put in.

should be fine the gearing ratio will be different may want to look into what is best for your driving habits

yes it will work. but as already mentioned the final drive on the itr trannies is short as ****. basically imagine doing 120 and your like going 3500 rpm. get the LS 5th gear ring

ya u know wut on the highway im doing 4g's @ 120kph its like ****...thank god i dont have one of those ziegen fireball mufflers....but you know wut it really awesome for street use, very quick accel and nice ratios for street punching, every gear had torque ready to go and the lsd is just so crazy....in less than a week ive got my ls motor comin so well see how the trans feels with some vtec 8^) finally...........
