What is better in a honda civic '99 hatchback? B18c (GSR) or the B16A2?

I was looking at the engine specs, and HP is the same, but there is a 17 lb. torque difference for the b18. Also the b16 has better compression.

I plan on boosting it with a Turbo.

And I don't care about emissions.

i am a honda fanatic.. depending on what you plan on doing later naturalluy aspirated or forced induction

n/a= go with the b18c1 gsr 94 to 00,or type r if you have the money to spend. the advantage of the gsr b18c it pulls much harder and faster combine it with a b16a2 transmission with basic bolt on header,intake,exhaust,hondatas200 ecu,etc.. but i warn you this motor is a high compression interference and not boost friendly.. but a thicker head gasket can take care of that..use only metal head gasket for force induction app..

force induction app

right out of the box a b16a has lower copmression with make it a boost friendly motor. i would not go for a b16 as an naturally aspirated app..take my words i have done it b4 to experience it and it is slow as hell compared to b18.. but both motor are great as it is.. or if you want more power then do a b20 vtec with either itr cams or ctr cams and so on
